Questionable Proton Persona Build Quality

Wake up! Proton! Please wake up!! Your quality drop again! And now you did it just before go into mass production!



This speedometer side suppose to be temperature indicator, but anyhow it change to fuel indicator. May be the technician purposely do it, because his salary increment or bonus is below his expectation! LOL

This RPM meter side with fuel level indicator is correct.

Mitsubishi Lancer 2008 (Lancer Project)

Mitsubishi has a dedicated website for it new Lancer at LancerProject.com. Basically the website promote the Mitsubishi Lancer 2007 just launched in Aug 2007 in Malaysia.

It only cost USD19,115 in USA. If you do simple conversion with USD1 = RM3.50, it only cost RM66,903. So, just image with RM67K you get a full spec Lancer, do you think Proton still can survive? Anyway, we need to pay a whopping RM48,000 in price different, for new Mitsubishi Lancer with less features compare to US model.

After spend some time, I found the Mitsubishi Lancer 2008 Evolution version!!!







From the Lancer Evolution Insider page, it doesn't tell much info. Anyway, the EVO version of Lancer make me feel excited and looking forward the performance in the next Rally!

What If Proton Is Main Sponsor Of Transformer Movie

The Transformer movie from Michael Bay is mainly sponsor by GM (General Motor). What if Proton so smart and knew this movie is a big hit and be the main sponsor of Transformer movie??

The build tough Savvy can transform to be a robot as well!! I think this should be Autobot Jazz, from the way it pose.



How about Optimus Prime? Since Proton do not produce any tracker or lorry, the only Proton flagship product is Proton Perdana. This is the Proton version Optimus Prime transform from a Perdana V6.



Ok, finally don't forget the boxy Proton Juara! Although it not look like Ironhide, I still assume this is cute version Ironhide, haha.

Proton Power Window Problem

Daddy Fixit, automotive engineer graduate from Britain and he wrote the "Turbo Blue" column for Sunday Star. Below is his comment on Proton low quality power window problem.

Powerless windows
Question: THE power window winder on my 2001 Proton Wira keeps breaking down and I am now on my fourth replacement.
I have been told that this is due to the poor quality of the motor used on this vehicle. As such, please advise if there are any third party replacements that are more reliable.

Answer: THE unreliability of the power window winder (motor) on Protons is well known and, up till now, I do not know of any better third-party replacements.
As such, you will just have to keep replacing the power window winder until Proton comes out with a reliable replacement component.

Do you know Mazda RX7 in Initial-D anime? Yeah, it a rotary engine (in short, RE) car from Mazda! RE is different from normal piston engine, and only able to find in Mazda car.

Mazda specially created a site to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Rotary Engine. You able to find a lot of information about Rotary Engine from Mazda there.

The Mazda RE started with Cosmo Sport RE, or Mazda 110S in May 1967. It was the first mass-produced RE passenger vehicle.
